Construction activity has picked up pace this spring. Two different types of cranes are currently on-site, skillfully setting precast concrete panels around the competition pool and locker rooms—a major milestone in shaping the facility’s form.

Prairie’s graduation ceremony is Saturday, May 24 at 12:30 PM. The graduation ceremony will be held at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse located at 370 1st Ave NE in Cedar Rapids.

Starting Friday, June 6, 2025, the intersection of 76th Avenue SW and Lone Willow Drive SW will be closed for improvements. The anticipated reopening date is August 19, 2025. This closure is located on 76th Avenue SW, just east of Prairie Crest Elementary School and west of Prairie Hawk Drive SW near Prairie Heights.

The College Community School District’s programs are located on a 800 acre site. The central campus site is a source of great pride. The Prairie campus consists of five elementary schools (K-4), an intermediate school (5-6), middle school (7-8), 9th Grade Center (9), high school (10-12), Early Childhood Center, and three off-site programs.
